 PTFE (POLYTETRAFLUOROETHYLENE) |
|
| |
|
|
Practically inert, PTFE does not react with other chemical products except in very specific situations. It is also one of the materials with the lowest friction coefficient and an exceptional non adherence. Its fair mechanical strength is enhanced using fillers such as glass, mineral salts (VX1), carbon/graphite, stainless steel, bronze, molybdenum disulphide, etc, depending on the properties to be improved.
Thermal resistance: Excellent behaviour from -200ºC to +260ºC.
Non toxicity: Inert material used for medical, pharmaceutical and foodstuff applications. Can comply to FDA, BgVV, and USP Class VI standards
Non porous: Non adherent to most products and adhesives, it is water repellent, guaranteeing a perfect impermeability with on of the lowest friction coefficient known (0.01 the nearest to ice).
Dielectric: It is a great electrical insulator, its dielectric constant is 2.1 and the factor of power loss 0.0002.
Atmospheric resistance: Exhibits an excellent behaviour to atmospheric conditions, ozone and UV radiation.
Chemical resistance: Resistant to the majority of chemical agents, oils and solvents.
