MEREFSA markets high quality glass and aramid fabric and mesh (PTFE coated glass and aramid fabrics). During the manufacturing process they are coated with PTFE several times to obtain a smooth, uniform thickness, obtaining an inert, non adherent, foodstuff contact apt, and high temperature resistant (up to +270ºC)
As with pure PTFE, PTFE emulsions can be filled with different products to enhance mechanical or electrostatic properties. The most common filler is graphite (antistatic PTFE coated fabric), which provides a better conductivity and occasionally glass and mica fillers for better mechanical properties.
PTFE coated glass fabrics are mostly used as non adherent items in heat sealing applications in packaging industry and thermoforming processes, conveyor belts in processes involving sticky products or high temperatures, such as lining of gliding surfaces, oven cooking sheets for pastry industry and dyeing, printing, silk screen printing in textile industry, etc.
Our maximum width in PTFE coated glass fabrics is 3300 mm, the most common size being 1000 mm in 30 metre length rolls. These rolls can be supplied with a silicone-based adhesive backing up to 1500 mm wide (maximum working temperature +240 º C) or chemically etched for further adhesion. Maximum width for mesh is 3600 mm.
We keep a permanent stock in 0.08 mm – 0.13 mm – 0.16 mm – 0.25 mm thick PTFE coated glass fabrics, with and without adhesive backing. We slit rolls upon request from 3 mm to 1495 mm wide. Also kept in stock are our PTFE coated glass cooking sheets (Qualiflon) and our Silicone coated cooking mats (Qualisil) in several standard sizes. We can supply any size on request.
Upon request we use thse materials to manufacture belts. Depending on the customer´s needs, we can supply Alligator, Clipper, Bullnose, Peek, heat-sealed or castellated splice, together with sealed and/or sewn lateral reinforcements.
